The 50% that “the Secret” left out…

I had the great fortune of learning “The Law of Attraction” from a Kahuna. Prior to hearing his teachings I had already viewed “the Secret” DVD many times, held discussion groups in our home and participated in an organized “Law of Attraction” study group with coaches and other professionals. Beyond that I had read 4 – 5 books by teachers featured in the DVD and was successfully manifesting a number of intentions. I was also integrating it with some success into my coaching practice, so all and all when this Law came up in the course I was in, I felt like “I already knew a fair bit about it.” To my surprise I was only 50% right. While the Kahuna taught us principles and practices completely congruent with ‘the Law of Attraction” or “Vibrational Correspondence/Congruence”, that is while everything in the Video, the books and my practices were correct, he taught us the 2nd half of the formula which in Hawaiian mysticism they call “Mana” you can think of it as your “Life force, Chi, Ki, Prana” these are all different names for the same energy. In other words, your intention is key it is like the steering wheel on a car, with your focus you determine your direction. Your, “Mana” on the other hand is the horsepower you have available to get there. Both are equally necessary, just like a Ferrari with no steering wheel is of little use, so is sawing away at the wheel of a Ferrari that has no engine in it. So if your focus is clear, if you know what you want but seem to be getting less traction than you’d like I suggest you look under the hood and see what is going on. Your next step will be the liberation of your Mana and that is a whole different ball game...

This makes good sense. Most people who are accomplishing what they want seem to have an inner energy that is visible to others. In some ways it even attracts others which would also help the person with high mana get what they want. I'm guessing that a high mana person does not have to be a "A" type personality.

Low energy people don't seem to get anything done even if they know what they want.

On the other hand, you could have all the energy and intention in the world to draw on, but it you don't do anything to achieve what you want, it's not going to happen.

This totaly makes sense. I have been practicing Reiki along with Native American teachings for 14 years now. I have felt high energy coupled with intetions and was getting what I attracted. I then somehow got into a rut and got stuck thinking there is no way I was going to get ahead. I am now back on track, my energy is growing and my focus on intentions and feelings has brought opertunities my way. I still have a long way to go to get to where I was before but this time I have no intention of getting distracted.

It's funny how many people who can practice Reiki slip into a rut and don't use is for long periods of time. I would include myself in this. I imagine this could be said about other hands on healing techniques as well.
